Open your senses to the forest

Experience the healing power of nature

Treat yourself to time on the land with a Restoration & Renewal Retreat

You are invited to Whidbey for restorative time in nature. In this time of disruption, change, and challenge, nature is here for you—and as a staff team, we’re eager to welcome you back to the forests, wetlands, and gardens of the Whidbey Institute.

Our team warmly invites you to experience the healing beauty of the land with a Restoration & Renewal Retreat. You’ll enjoy privacy in a single room or cabin, or bring a partner or household member and share a space. Retreats include delicious, nourishing meals from Chef Christyn Johnson, served with careful attention to health and safety standards. Our team has spent these months preparing rigorous COVID-19 standards and protocols, and you’ll be hosted with tremendous care. We’re limiting registration to ensure plenty of space for physical distancing, so register soon! To learn more about how we’re keeping you safe, visit our website

Are you longing for time alone in nature, leisurely afternoons with your journal or a good book, and long walks in the woods? Or do you hope for a weekend of focused work time, with internet access and nothing to distract you but the songs of frogs and owls? These retreats are for you. This experience is designed to foster intimacy between you and nature, and we invite you to arrive, sink into the land, and stay. This retreat is not a fit for those looking for lodging as a launchpad for tourism or off-campus exploration in the larger community.
