“Part of the Whidbey Institute’s path is to help people find their own authentic center point, the place in themselves where they are able to be at ease, to be resilient, to be flexible, and to be at peace.” —Joel Shrut

About Jenny Rhodes

After choosing Hatha yoga as an elective class her freshman year of college, Jenny’s eyes were opened wide; seeing the infinite possibilities for spiritual and somatic growth and the gift staying present. For over two decades she has taken her practice around the world; expanding her knowledge and appreciation of yoga in its many and varied forms.

Before moving to Seattle from the UK eight years ago, Jenny taught music, Spanish and yoga to children. Offering these gifts to little ones was a natural fit, as she has been dancing, singing, speaking Spanish and doing yoga with her own children since their early years.

She cultivates fluidity, strength and grace into her practice and teaching style though influences in Ashtanga, Jivamukti, and Forrest styles of yoga. Creating a safe space for students is paramount, bringing the understanding that alignment in poses is more about working with a body where it’s at, as opposed to pushing it into a shape that isn’t right for that individual.

Offering a variety of Hatha gentle, flow and vinyasa styles of yoga in Seattle, Jenny weaves guided meditation, yoga philosophy, pranayama (breath technique) & relaxation into classes where students of all ages and abilities benefit. She is Yoga Alliance certified and currently working toward her 500 hr. certification.

With humor and an open heart, Jenny takes a balanced approach to teaching and to life, bringing inspiration and purpose to everything she does.
