The Catch the Fire Workshop is based on the premise that we are all creative, and we have a birthright to express ourselves through the arts—without having to be good at it! You will be part of a welcoming learning community that will make it easy to take creative risks. No previous experience with the arts is required.

Who is The Catch the Fire Workshop for?

Youth workers, educators, trainers, CEO’s, entrepreneurs, business people, artists, conveners, community leaders…anyone who wants to bring vitality and new effectiveness to their work with adults and/or youth.

The Trainers

Charlie Murphy is PYE Co-founder and CEO. He is internationally recognized for his ground-breaking work using the arts to bring depth, relevance and effectiveness to organizations and educational programs for adults and youth. An acclaimed facilitator and presenter, Charlie has worked with organizations, schools and businesses on five continents. In 1996 he founded The Power of Hope: Youth Empowerment through the Arts with Peggy Taylor. In 2006 he was awarded an Ashoka Fellowship in recognition of his groundbreaking youth development work.

She is a writer, musician, and creative development specialist   with a Masters of Education in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University in Cambridge MA. She has over 30 years experience working in the fields of group facilitation and experiential learning. Peggy taught creativity at Bainbridge Graduate Institute and is co-author of Chop Wood, Carry Water: A Guide to Finding Spiritual Fulfillment in Everyday Life, which has sold over 250,000 copies worldwide.

 

 

For over 20 years, Charlie and Peggy have been using their methods with groups of youth and adults all over the world—in classrooms, youth programs, businesses, universities, business schools, and conferences large and small. Their new book Catch the Fire: An Art-Full Guide to Unleashing the Creative Power of Youth, Adults, and Communities is a practical guide to increasing creativity in your life and work.
