Many of us are furious and despairing in the bleak days that have beset our country, from Standing Rock to ICE raids in our hometowns. We are also fiercely motivated, loving, and know that community is the foundation for a truly heart-based, long-haul solidarity and resistance. Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects, familiar to many on our island, is a profound practice for building resilience and joy even in the most challenging times.
Join us for a morning to practice this work, facing our despair and fear and moving through it into connection and new energy for change. Led by Belinda Griswold, a Whidbey Islander, longtime facilitator of this work and close student of Joanna’s, we’ll travel through the spiral of this beautifully experiential, group-based work.
Please read the first couple of chapters of Joanna’s book “Coming Back to Life” before you come, or peruse www.workthatreconnects.org. Donation only, and all gifts go to the Whidbey Institute.
