Deep Song: The Art of Playing Life More Beautifully
With Michael Jones
In the beginning was the Word and the word was song. It is a song of simple genuine mystery, of true yearning, of sorrow and ecstasy, a song born in the stirrings of the morning, a song carried aloft on the currents on the wind. Deep song is the natural music of forests, woods, lakes streams and hills.
The earth sings. Deep song is the music of the earth rising up. Music that will make us rich and make us full. When we create our place on the earth and sing our own deep song we also embrace the art of playing life in a more beautiful way.
This afternoon will offer a unique opportunity to join Canadian pianist, composer and leadership educator Michael Jones in conversation as he shares his journey into discovering his own Deep Song. He will do so through stories to convey his message and music and conversation to deepen it. Together they will invite the listener into a deeper appreciation of how the essence of who we are resides in our craft and through craft into a greater harmony and enchantment with our world.
He will also explore how our relationship with craft and with a sense of place brings us into alignment with the underlying timeless patterns of life. He does so by asking; what is our experience of homecoming and how do we find our way there? What is our pattern of belonging – including our relationship with people and places we hold sacred? What are the conditions for–re-generativity and craft that enable us to give birth to something new? And how can our stewardship of what is most alive in us open a path for gathering together in a spirit of transformative and collective celebration.
Michael will have copies of his book; The Soul of Place: Re-imagining Leadership Through Nature, Art and Community and his music CD’s Deep Song and Almost Home available during his session with us.
