“Part of the Whidbey Institute’s path is to help people find their own authentic center point, the place in themselves where they are able to be at ease, to be resilient, to be flexible, and to be at peace.” —Joel Shrut

Meadow Row North Groundbreaking Community Picnic

July 22, 2017

All are welcome at the Whidbey Institute on July 22 from 11 am to 3 pm. This free, family-friendly celebration will feature food and live music in the Madrone Meadow.

Come for outdoor games, crafts, and juggling lessons! Stay for music and a delicious picnic catered by Executive Chef Christyn Johnson. Enjoy the company of neighbors and friends, hear short speeches to celebrate this important moment in our history, take an optional tour of the building sites, and learn more about what’s new and exciting at the Whidbey Institute.

This Meadow Row North Groundbreaking Community Picnic marks the first major step in expanding our capacity to serve more people, programs, and community groups as a home for transformational learning experiences. Help us celebrate this important moment, acknowledge the designers and builders who are helping our facilities grow, and thank those who gave to the WI2020 campaign in 2017.

Special parking arrangements can be made by those with mobility limitations by emailing thomas@whidbeyinstitute.org or by entering your request in the comment field during the RSVP process.

Meadow Row North and three Live Edge cabins will be constructed offsite (by JADE Craftsman Builders and Live Edge Woodworks, respectively) starting July 2017 and installed on campus in late 2017. View the press release!
