Trail Work every second Saturday

August 12 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every month that begins at 10:00am on day Second of the month, repeating until September 9, 2017

Free
Join us for trail work days every second Saturday of the month. We will work from 10 am to 12:30 or 1, then share lunch together. Soup and salad will be provided and volunteers are welcome to supplement anything else, potluck style.
Work will include pruning, clearing debris, re-grading trails, removing invasive species, and more. Work can be tailored to fit your skills, interests, and mobility to the extent possible. Our goals are to tend this beautiful forest as a community, to give our attention to its life and development, to learn together, to keep these public trails safe and accessible, and to enjoy ourselves in this place.
If you have them, please bring hand pruners, loppers, a pruning saw, and gloves. We have extras if you do not have these things. Also, be sure to wear protective footwear, sun protection, and bring plenty of water and a snack if needed.
For more information, please contact the Land Steward, Robert Mellinger, at robert@whidbeyinstitute.org.
