“Part of the Whidbey Institute’s path is to help people find their own authentic center point, the place in themselves where they are able to be at ease, to be resilient, to be flexible, and to be at peace.” —Joel Shrut

Walk & Talk with Fungi Tour 2014

October 11, 2014

Following a very positive response in 2013, the Whidbey Camano Land Trust is offering another Walk & Talk with Fungi Tour at the Whidbey Institute!

Update: This tour is now full. To have your name placed on a waiting list, please email janelle@wclt.org.

If you’d like to learn more about the different types of fungi you see, how they came to look so funny, and what their purpose is, then join us on Saturday, October 11th at Chinook. Their will be two tours, the first from 10am-12pm, and the second from 1pm-3pm. Space is limited, so register today!

This free educational tour will be led by Ida Gianopulos, Conservation Assistant at the Whidbey Camano Land Trust. Ida will lead you through about 1.5 miles of moderate hiking, and teach you about the different types of fungi along the way.

Read this Whidbey News Times article about last year’s very successful fungi tour, then view WCLT’s photos from the event. Finally, enjoy this brief clip from WhidbeyTV’s upcoming episode, Walk and Talk with Fungi, filmed on the land at Chinook last autumn!
