Live Music with Timothy Hull, Margot Merah, and Casey Neill
Sunday, August 11, 2 PM
Friends and neighbors, you’re invited to bring a picnic and enjoy a concert
at the Whidbey Institute’s beautiful Storyhouse Stage.
Suggested Donation: $10 – $20 with all proceeds going to the musicians.
About the Musicians:
Timothy Hull – A singer-songwriter from Whidbey Island, he has toured over the past fifteen years bringing his songs, guitar, stories, and humor to colleges, clubs, pubs, coffee houses, and conferences, coast to coast. Born of an Irish mother and American father, Timothy grew up with time split between the old country and the new. Although most songs he brings to the stage are originals, the influence of the old world, full of traditional music, is clear.
Margot Merah: Telling stories is what the folk tradition is all about and it is what Margot loves to do. For the past 20 years Margot has toured all over the world; Europe, Australia, USA, Canada and Japan. She is part of the female folk duo, The Lasses, with Sophie Janna and loves to sing and play at sessions. She can often be found singing in Irish Music Bar Mulligans in her home city of Amsterdam.
Casey Neill: A prolific Portland, Oregon-based songwriter and road warrior since the late 1990s, Casey continues to tour throughout the USA, Japan, and Europe performing at venues, such as Town Hall in New York, Bumbershoot, and the Newport Folk Festival. American roots and Scots/Irish-folk influences have often underscored his songwriting and solo material.
The Whidbey Institute wants to hear from you. Please share your stories from the past, present and future. We will be collecting stories from community members, program leaders and participants, trail users, and more over the next several months. We hope to share some of the stories as we continue to celebrate this place.
“We are not lacking in the dynamic forces needed to create the future. We live immersed in a sea of energy beyond all comprehension. But this energy, in an ultimate sense, is ours not by domination but by invocation.” – THOMAS BERRY
