Storytelling and Sensemaking: Earth Day 2024

April 22, 2024

Monday April 22, 2024 from 5:00 – 6:30 pm (Pacific)

Zoom room open 4:30-5pm and 6:30-7pm for social time.
Zoom link will be shared in your RSVP confirmation email.

We warmly welcome you to join a Whidbey Institute online community gathering: hear updates about the organization, gain inspiration as we celebrate Earth Day together, and explore ways you and we are meeting the need for transformational commitment in these times.

This event is free and open to everyone who is interested. It is not a fundraising event. We look forward to seeing you online on Earth Day, April 22nd!

Storytelling from the Whidbey Institute (inspiration and facts, not fiction!)

New Leadership: Greet co-executive directors Rose Woods (our program host since 2023) and Hillarie Maddox (joining us anew). Share thanks for the work of outgoing interim director Ananda Valenzuela.

Board Expansion: Welcome new board members Diana Sandoval, Susan Balbas, Matias Valenzuela, and Karina Bergen. Bid farewell to longtime board members Kate Snider, Hilary Wilson, and Cole Hoover.

Programs, Place and Partnerships: Learn about transformative returning and new programs and community gatherings at the Whidbey Institute this year, including our 50th anniversary celebrations Sept 6-8. Plus updates on stewarding the place and partnerships that make this all possible.

Fundraising plans: this is not a fundraising event! Get a brief view of 2024 fundraising activities, and our new 2030 Endowment Campaign.

Sensemaking from us all:  Listen, think and share what it means to be in purposeful work and presence today. What questions are we living with in these times?  What fuels our dedication and joy? How are we showing up? Are we honest and welcoming? We’ll explore this in large and small group discussions.

Arrive Early, Stay Later for Community

The Zoom room will be open from 4:30-5pm and 6:30-7pm (Pacific) for optional Earth Day social time together. Bring your favorite food and beverage!

The Zoom link to our April 22nd Storytelling and Sensemaking event will be included in your RSVP confirmation email.
