Free Family Music and Percussion Petting Zoo with SOUND MACHINE!

October 12, 2024

Come dance and play with SOUND MACHINE at this free, family-friendly concert and percussion petting zoo on Saturday, Oct 12th between 11am – 1pm at the Whidbey Institute’s outdoor Storyhouse theater.

SOUND MACHINE is Whidbey Island’s premier HONK! band, playing fun covers of their favorite songs, and using music to make a difference in their community. You can catch them at local events like South Whidbey Pride and the Welcome the Whales Parade. SOUND MACHINE believes in inclusivity and welcomes everyone – regardless of age or ability – to join them in playing danceable live music for all.

During this event, children of all ages are encouraged to pick up a small drum or a shaker and play along, with opportunities for short rhythm lessons and seeing the band’s instruments up close.

Come as you are, and feel free to wear colorful costumes. Please dress appropriately for outdoor weather, and bring your chairs, blankets, and picnics if desired. Tea and water will be provided

RSVP to help us track our guest count and receive detailed arrival instructions. The performance area may change due to rain.
