Labyrinth Walk

August 14, 2021

To the Center of the Labyrinth and Back: Remember, Receive, Reflect, and Release

10 am start in at the Labyrinth; arrive and park in the Lower Lot by 9:50 am

Have you walked a Labyrinth? Are you looking for a way to calm the chatter in your mind to listen and reflect on what is emerging for you at this moment? The Labyrinth at the Whidbey Institute is patterned after the medieval design found at Chartes and was created by volunteers.  It sits up on a clear landing just above the Hillside cabins. You may have seen it as you walked the Farmhouse trail.

Nancy Neudecker, a part-time Maxwelton Valley resident and student of labyrinth facilitation, is offering guided walks this summer. She will share basic practices and some history of labyrinths before setting you on the labyrinth path. She will open and close the walk with the whole group. Beginners and experienced walkers will enjoy this opportunity to share the labyrinth.

Park in the lower parking lot and follow the trail up to the Labyrinth. We will get started by 10:05 at the Labyrinth. Give yourself 10 minutes to hike from parking to the Labyrinth.

Bring a water bottle and dress for the weather.

This is one of five Labyrinth walks planned for this summer:

June 20 – Solstice Labyrinth Walk 10:00-11:30

July 10 – Labyrinth Walk 10:00-11:30 (Silent walk)

July 13 – Labyrinth Walk 10:00-11:30

August 14 – Labyrinth Walk 10:00-11:30

September 18 – Labyrinth Walk 10:00-11:30

Children are welcome. Please let us know ahead of time if your young ones will be joining so we can make plans to support their experience.
